The HUB

The original painting called The Hub went to former Angels Manager Mike Scioscia for a charity benefit arranged by John McEntee of TEI. The idea behind the painting is that the manager, Scioscia, is the center (or Hub) of all baseball activities. We see coaches, a player, staff and media (print and broadcast with the big cameras and social media by the fan with a phone) all around him. A base of fans completes the wheel. A boy with a glove sits with his dad, hoping to catch a stray ball, perhaps the one being tossed by the ball boy. Everyone revolves around the manager’s decisions.
