Frank Lisciandro has a way with a camera. He started shooting film early in life and I think he still has every negative since then. He just has a sensibility about composition, light and texture that is exciting. He was one of Jim Morrison's closest friends. They made films together, frequently traveled together and shared many common interests. Frank took this photo of Jim performing for public television WNET in New York. Frank has generously let me use his photos as inspiration for paintings and this is one of my favorites.
