Here's a family portrait with no people in it. Everyone is represented by something dear to them or somehow a reflection of their interests. Dion wanted this huge piece to be like looking out a window at the surf. I figured out the we could put it on a pier with a gift shop and have all the goodies in the store. That worked. Then he added some friends, and the dog and... So we added the bulletin board and other icons. It took a while to get the wave to work, at first it was a tsunami and I got to spend several days on the Newport Pier trying to figure out how water works visually. A really fun piece to do.
