I have always loved doing portraits and absolutely love doing a non-traditional piece like this. Alice Rogers approached me with this image and I couldn't have been more excited to paint it. There are so many ways to do a portrait and express emotion. This one speaks volumes without having to directly show their faces. This was a real treat for me.
