PORTRAITS
Kel Carruthers started racing at age 12. He won the Australian 125cc, 250cc, 350cc and 500cc National Championships.
He then went to Europe and competed in FIM Grand Prix from 1966 to 1970, winning the 1969 250cc World Championship.
From '71 to '73 he competed in AMA road racing for Yamaha. His wide range of skills led him to become Team Manager and helped Kenny Roberts and Eddie Lawson to win their many titles.
His career is commemorated on two different countries postage stamps, so I thought it fun to do his portrait as a stamp.
