PORTRAITS
Don Emde is a motorcycle racer who grew up walking in his family's motorcycle tracks. His grandfather was one of the first motorcycle patrolmen. Don's dad, Floyd, won the prestigious Daytona 200 in 1948, and in 1972 Don repeated that glorious feat of winning America's most prestigious motorcycle race. Don's victory marked the first win for Yamaha, the smallest displacement bike to win, the first two stroke to ever have won and of course, the only father/son win.
He is in the AMA Hall of Fame, Sturgis Hall of Fame and Trailblazers Hall of Fame where he is President.
After hanging up the leathers Don became a publisher and authored several marvelous books on motorcycle history.
